ITO is a UK company providing web-based services for transport professionals and transport users. Our services are based on an advanced multi-modal model of the UK’s transport system. The model includes roads and public transport, and is visualised using state-of-the-art visual effects techniques.

ITO has worked on a number of key EU and UK data standards. It is also the lead industrial partner in a five-year government research project to understand innovative uses of information technology by transport users.

ITO was founded by Peter Miller and Hal Bertram. Peter has over 10 years experience in the transport technology sector, pioneering the development of real-time bus information and management systems in the UK. Peter has been closely involved in setting UK and CEN (European) transport standards. Hal has more than 10 years experience developing visual effects software for the film industry. Hal and Peter previously worked together as part of an Academy Award-wining team developing innovative film special effects technology.
