Developed in partnership with Traveline and the Department for Transport the NaPTAN Management product assists in the continual improvement of depth and quality of information provided to the public.

It allows the visualisation of data in great detail, using specialised imaging and mapping tools to expose inconsistencies and facilitate the correction of errors. It provides automated consistency reports that can identify potential problems with the constituent datasets. ITO's consistency checks are continually being refined and extended. Some of the automated consistency reports highlight:

• Stops not by roads or in water
• Stops naming problems including length, illegal characters or capitalisation, and names with high-risk words
• Locality problems including irregular shapes, invalid parent/child links and stop association problems
• Exchange Points not linked with Localities
• Stop areas with problem stops or mixed localities
